Summer Cocktail: Basil Hayden’s Red, White and Blueberry Julep


Sip Basil Hayden’s neat, on the rocks or enjoy it in a classic cocktail! On July 4th, try the Basil Hayden’s Red, White and Blueberry Julep – it’s the perfect, simple cocktail for Independence Day. The recipe  combines fresh, seasonal ingredients like mint leaves and lemon juice  with the trademark spicy finish of Basil Hayden’s. Blueberries give this cocktail a patriotic look that’s perfect for the occasion.

2 parts Basil Hayden’s® Bourbon
8-10 Mint Leaves
8 Blueberries
1 part Fresh Lime Juice
3/4 part Simple Syrup

1. Muddle mint leaves and blueberries in a mixing glass.
2. Add remaining ingredients and shake over ice.
3. Fine strain into a rocks glass with crushed ice.
4. Garnish with blueberries and a sprig of mint.
