Lux Row Celebrates First Anniversary with Double Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Lux Row Distillers is celebrating the first anniversary of the opening of their distillery with the release of the new Double Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey.

The new release isn’t double barreled in the finished sense, but is rather a blend of two barrels of 12-Year bourbon with a rye mash bill. Each combination was hand selected by Head Distiller John Rempe and will be bottled at a barrel strength 118.4 proof, as a nod to the April 2018 opening of the distillery.

“We wanted to do something unique to commemorate the opening of Lux Row Distillers so I tasted through many barrels to find the ones that would complement each other perfectly creating a well-balanced, flavorful bourbon,” said Head Distiller John Rempe in a press release.

“Each two barrel combinations will be slightly different but will have strong caramel and vanilla notes, with a warm and spicy finish,” he says of the 12-Year barrel blends.

Lux Row Distillers opened their doors last year in Bardstown, Kentucky. Their new Double Barrel release will join their popular bottlings like the wheated Rebel Yell and their limited edition Blood Oath pacts.

The first tasting will take place Thursday, September 19th at the All Star Sampler at the Kentucky Bourbon Festival. Just 6,000 bottles of Lux Row Double Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey will be available only in Kentucky at a suggested retail price of $150.
