How’s your spare cash looking? Got a cool $1b laying around? Reason for asking, one of Kentucky’s most iconic Bourbon brands has been posted “FOR SALE” allegedly, as noted in a “Financial Times” article today. The company is none other than Four Roses in Lawrenceburg, KY.
Four Roses parent company, Kirin Brewery (Kirin Holdings Company, Japan HQ), has listed Four Roses up for grabs with $1b price tag, per the FT article. Kirin purchased Four Roses from Pernod Ricard and Diageo in 2002 for around $165m. Prior to that, Four Roses was owned by Seagrams from 1943 – 1999, then shuffled from French based Vivendi/Universal to Pernod Ricard and Diageo in the interim.
Kirin Holdings Co is a booze and pharmaceutical business. Per the FT article, Kirin does around $15b in yearly rev as Four Roses accounted for ~$70m adjusted annually, to provide scale and context.
