CLE Azabache

  • Shape: Double Toro 6x 60
  • Wrapper:SanAndreas Maduro
  • Origin: Honduras
  • Price:$50
  • Pairs with: Knob Creek 25th Anniversary

Christian Eiroa has produced a gem, literally. The name Azabache or “jet” comes from from a shiny black gem found in Honduras said to bring good luck. The San Andreas maduro wrapper is oily with a beautiful dark color. The Knob Creek 25th Anniversary goes well with this smoke. Coming in around between 120-125 proof (depending on the barrel) this Bourbon has the legs to stand up to the spice from the Honduran binder adding to full flavored experience.

Ashton Symmetry

  • Strength: Medium-Full
  • Shape: Corona 5.6x 56
  • Wrapper:EcuadorHabano
  • Origin: Dominican Republic
  • Price:$00
  • Pairs with: Rowan’s Creek

This long anticipated release was ranked #8 in 2015 by Cigar Aficionado scoring a 94-point rating. The idea behind Symmetry is balance and the Fuentes achieve this perfectly by blending Nicaraguan and Dominican tobaccos which can easily clash. It’s also the first time an Ashton cigar has contained Nicaraguan tobacco. Rowan’s Creek is no stranger to accolades either, this high-rye bourbon is herbal and fresh with a hint of spice, you wouldn’t know it’s 100.1 proof with this cigar.

La Palina 2016 TAA

Releasing their first TAA exclusive in 2016 dubbed “Bill’s Blend” after owner Bill Palina. The wrapper resembles more of a Connecticut shade but is slightly darker. The cigar is rich and creamy, staying very mild throughout it’s burn with soft hits of hay and green tea. It accentuates  Redemption High Rye Bourbon picking up spearmint notes and caramel as they hit the palette.

La Flor Dominicana Colorado Oscuro

  • Strength: Full
  • Shape:  4 Robusto 5.2 x 54
  • Wrapper:EcuadorSumatra
  • Origin: Dominican Republic
  • Price:$00
  • Pairs with: Old Forester Signature 100 Proof

“Flower of the Dominican” may be the proper translation but don’t mistake LFD for being soft. They are know for crafting some of the strongest ligero handmades. The Colorado Oscuro is no different and deserves a place in the humidor. The wrapper has a slight red tint with lots of texture lending to a rustic appeal. Old Forester is the perfect bourbon with this cigar. The fruit and baking spice blends well with the full-bodied LFD.

Rocky Patel Sumatra

Rocky Patel Edge Sumatra cigars are one of the hottest sellers in the cigar world. Their goal is consistency. Each one burns like a charm and delivers a medium bodied bomb of flavor in every puff. This is a nice long smoke and pairs well with Maker’s 46.
