Bardstown Bourbon Company Creates This Year’s Official Cocktail for the Kentucky Bourbon Festival

The Bardstown Bourbon Company earned the title of Grand Champion on Tuesday evening in Bardstown at the 2018 Kentucky Bourbon Festival Mixed Drink Challenge.
This winning concoction – dubbed the “Modern Proethus” – will become the “Official Cocktail of the 2018 Kentucky Bourbon Festival.” Until then, it will be exclusively available at Bottle & Bond Kitchen and Bar (located within The Bardstown Bourbon Company) for $12.
Created by Dan Callaway and Randi Densford from the company’s beverage team, the duo stayed true to this year’s scientific theme. ‘The Modern Prometheus’ (recipe below) was created in the image of an Old Fashioned with an international twist.
The Modern Prometheus
1 1/2 oz Calumet 10 yr. Kentucky Straight Bourbon
1/2 oz Pierre Ferrand Cognac Reserve
1/4 oz Meletti
1/4 oz Apple infused Amaro Syrup
3 dashes Cardamom/Walnut bitters
*Served in a rocks glass with a single large ice cube that contains apple slices
