The 2021 “Ultimate Spirits Challenge” awards were just released, and shockingly (not really), there were a stable of winners from Buffalo Trace Distillery that took home the highest awarded honor – “Chairman’s Trophy”.
Weller Full Proof, EH Taylor Rye, and Blanton’s each were awarded “Chairman’s Trophy” for their respective sub category within “Whiskey-USA”. The full list of Chairman’s Trophy winner within “WHISKEY – USA” is listed below.
In all, there were 21 spirits categories and entries from over 52 spirit producing nations. Reading up about USC, it looks like they’re doing a solid job with infrastructure and tackling a vast ocean of spirit judging. Evaluation period is May through June. I don’t envy their livers, but otherwise, sounds like a pretty good gig.
