In a post-apocalyptic world, its comforting to know there’s still bourbon. That’s right – hit TV show The Walking Dead is getting its own Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey.

Hot on the tail of the successful launch of their line of Game of Thrones Scotches, spirits giant Diageo has teamed up with Skybound Entertainment (the company behind The Walking Dead comic series) for the new release. They’ve created the name “Spirits of the Apocalypse” for the line, although The Walking Dead Bourbon is the only spirit currently announced under that name.

The Walking Dead Bourbon will be bottled at 94 proof. Tasting notes from the brand tell us to look forĀ “a light caramel nose, taste of fruit and a smooth and spicy finish” in a “whiskey good enough for the living and sought out by the dead.” While we don’t know for sure where the product is being distilled, we do know that Diageo also owns Bulleit Distilling Co.

The Walking Dead, an AMC show that tells the fictional stories of survivors after a zombie apocalypse, was recently renewed for its 10th season. The show will return to screens this fall, right around the time the bourbon will arrive on shelves.

The Walking Dead Bourbon will begin shipping in October for around $35. It’s available for preorder now at reservebar.com.
