Celebrate Kentucky’s 225th birthday June 1-3 at Belle’s Cocktail House

Story by Steve Coomes

Join the Bourbon Review gang for three special celebrations of Kentucky’s 225th birthday June 1-3, at Lexington’s top bar, Belle’s Cocktail House.

The festivities kick off Thursday, June 1, when we serve up Bourbon, Burgoo & Bluegrass at Belle’s from 6-9 p.m. A mere $25 will get you a pair of summertime Maker’s Mark cocktails (or have your whiskey neat if you prefer) served on Belle’s rooftop bar. Marc Therrien, executive chef at Keeneland Racecourse, will serve the burgoo which will include premium touches. Live entertainment comes from Custom Made Bluegrass, so be ready to soak up some good music. Click here to get tickets.

The party returns to Belle’s Friday, June 2, for a Bourbon, Fried Chicken & Biscuits feast. For $28 you’ll get two 1792 barrel-aged cocktails—a boulevardier and a Manhattan—made from Barton’s single barrel Bourbons. Legendary singer-songwriter, Larry Redmon, will provide the tunes, and Lockbox executive chef Jonathan Searle will bring the fried chicken and biscuits along with locally sourced marmalades, sorghum-butter, and honey. Click here to get tickets.

Saturday, June 3, sees the big celebration when a Bourbon, BBQ and Blues dinner is served at Belle’s. Willy’s Locally Known gets the call to provide the ‘cue and sides, while Woodford Reserve adds on a Bourbon cocktail. And if you’ve heard The Northside Sheiks play, you know the blues jams will be hot! Tickets are $35. Click here to get yours.
