Blue Corn Bourbon Arrives in the Bluegrass

Bluegrass Distillers announces the arrival and release of their Blue Corn Bourbon.

Lexington, KY – Bluegrass Distillers will be hosting Bourbon lovers this Saturday, Sept 2nd, for a limited release of their new Blue Corn Bourbon. From 10 am to 2 pm, live Bluegrass music will play at the distillery as finger foods and Bourbon are served.

The first batch of their Blue Corn was comprised of only 50 gallons of spirits, which have filled roughly 250 750 ml bottles. With a mash bill of 75% locally grown GMO free blue corn, 20% wheat, and 5% malted barley, the bottles will be sold at 89 proof and will cost $52. Bluegrass Distillers brags that the Bourbon is a Kentucky Proud product, and contains corn grown at the Gilkison Farm in Winchester, Kentucky.

While the mash for these bottles is a bubbling blue, the spirit runs clear off the still and the final product has the traditional honey and amber hue of Bourbon made from yellow corn. Try it yourself on September 2nd!
