Heaven Hill Distillery has announced the release of the fall 2018 edition of Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. The second release is comprised of barrels produced in October of 2008 and bottled in August of 2018.
Bottled in an ornate decanter, the fall edition uses a black label, which will stay consistent across all future fall releases. Like the spring edition, this edition’s tax strip will disclose when the liquid was produced and bottled. The tax strip has been a signature of transparency on bottled-in-bond products since the passage of the Bottled-in-Bond Act in 1897.
The Bottled-in-Bond Act laid out several requirements of a bottled-in-bond Bourbon: it must be the product of a single distillery from a single distilling season, aged a minimum of four years, and bottled at 100 proof or 50% alcohol by volume.
The second edition is available at a suggested retail price of $90 for a 750ml bottle.
