Jake’s Cigar Bar is located just ten minutes south of downtown Lexington on Nicholasville Road (U. S. 27) in the Brannon Crossing Shopping Centre. Jake’s is owned by Jake Glancy. The Cigar Bar hit the ground running since opening its doors at the beginning of April of this year.
“In a nutshell,” Jake explains, “we are the only place in Central Kentucky where you can enjoy fine cigars from all over the world as well as one of our more than 50 bourbons.”
That’s right: having a Nicholasville address has its privileges in the form of not having a smoking ban imposed on establishments within its borders. To capitalize on their great location near Lexington Jake brought in resident cigar aficionado Jarred Topolski.
“He has a great deal of experience in the cigar trade,” Jake notes, “and he’s gone a long way toward helping us create a different kind of cigar bar. After Jarrod and I talk to somebody we can figure out what would be in tune with what they’re looking for, and then recommend a bourbon that compliments that cigar.”
It is a concept that has caught on already as Jake is seeing an increasing number of repeat customers.
“It’s good bourbon and your choice of one of almost 300 different facings of cigars, each with its own flavor,” Jake says. “We don’t serve food, just a wide range of bourbons and cigars.”

“We are a laid back place, it’s not stuffy, but still provides a really nice environment to have a quality cigar and meet others who enjoy doing the same,” Jake concludes. “Essentially it’s a hangout where you’re allowed to go to, have good conversation, and smoke and drink.”
